dandelion poem

i have a soft spot for the dandelion with its beautiful yellow flowers. i admire its determination to survive even in the harshest of conditions. but it’s a weed and a free spirit. it doesn’t sit well on manicured grounds. if this poem speaks to you, then we are kindred spirits. dear one, i wrote it for you.
would i give air to this feeling
buried deep in snow
would you give it sun and space
would you let it grow
i’m not a rose i know
i’m a lowly bred
i’m a dandelion
with a yellow head
would i show up in your garden
would i make it through
or would you let me die in spring
with memories of you
