football as american as apple pie

on feb. 5, the greatest show on earth will be held in indianapolis. i’m talking about the super bowl, the national football league’s championship game, which pits the new york giants team against the new england patriots team.

the super bowl is considered the most important day for advertising in america. this year, the average cost of a 30 second commercial is estimated at $3.5 million. as expected, budweiser will be buying several spots. people tend to party during the super bowl where they drink a lot of beer and eat truckload of pizzas.

according to the news, hip hop artist bryan ‘birdman aka baby’ williams is betting $5 million on the new england patriots. although i like both teams, i’m also rooting for the patriots without putting money on the line. i like them to win because their quarterback, tom brady, is a local boy who grew up in the san francisco bay area.

tom brady has become so famous that the paparazzi and the press have started taking him seriously. for sure, he has undergone a lot of scrutiny. he has made the covers of popular magazines like gq, esquire, and sports illustrated. even his beautiful teeth have attracted attention. who could forget the tv interview where his orthodontist was only too happy to claim the credit? he confessed it was his handiwork alright. i guess we can expect all the good press for as long as he continues winning.

of course, it doesn’t help that he has this gorgeous wife whom he can sink his teeth into (pun intended). she’s supermodel gisele bundchen. she’s one that the rest of us can only dream of. she could be the most beautiful woman in the world. i’m sure the above video will put any doubt to rest. it’s titled gisele bundchen’s tattoos. i confess that, at first, i found it hard to spell her name. but with such a beauty, it didn’t take me long. even google appears to have fallen under her charms. when i misspelled her name, it corrected me and gave me the pages i wanted with authority.

the super bowl comes at the most depressing time of the year when there’s nothing much to celebrate about. at least temporarily, it helps us take our minds away from the bad weather, mounting holiday bills, unrealistic new year’s resolutions, etc. i wonder what life in the u.s. would be without it. it has become as american as apple pie.

It will be a great game. Sorry, but the Giants will take the Patriots to the cleaners. Go, Go Giants. Yeah!

one thing about football is that it’s very difficult to predict the outcome. on a given day, any team can win. having said that, i hope that you’re wrong. 🙂

I agree with Andy. Brady’s favorite target Gronkowski is injured. If he’s not able to play, the game is over.

the odds makers in las vegas have the patriots winning by 3 points. in a few days, we’ll see if they’re right on the money.
