As Seasons Come and Go

It was the Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, who once said that change is central to the universe. Nothing stands still. When everything is in constant motion, the best that we can do is to live in the moment and enjoy the ride.

as seasons come and go
that now i know
life is a series of hellos and goodbyes
a cliche but so true

sometimes i think
of what could have been
of the past
that won’t come back again

sometimes i wonder
of what it’s been
of the present
that brings unexpected things

sometimes i dream
of what it will be
of the future
that seems distant to me

but this i’m certain
without you there is no heaven
that now i know
as seasons come and go

    This poem reminds me about not taking your loved ones for granted because they can be taken away without much notice.

    “Show me, Lord, my life’s end
    and the number of my days;
    let me know how fleeting my life is.
    You have made my days a mere handbreadth;
    the span of my years is as nothing before you.
    Everyone is but a breath,
    even those who seem secure.

    Psalm 39:4-5

    Wonderful poem, Mr. P! I like this part the most >>>”sometimes i dream
    of what it will be
    of the future
    that seems distant to me
    but this i’m certain
    without you there is no heaven”

      skip:

      what it came down to was finding a word that chosely rhymes with “certain.” after knocking my brains out, i arrived at “heaven.” darn, it was so cheesy and i’m a guy! 🙂
