a woman is like a flower
she has many layers
you have to unwrap her
one petal at a time
to see what’s inside
the fountain of her pride

or she can be an onion
with many layers still
you try to peel her
and she makes you weep
even when you do it
gently with space to breathe

a woman is like a flower
she has many layers
that cover her like a shield
she’s hermetically encased
she reveals herself to no one
unless she’s handled with grace
