for friday fictioneers 100-word challenge 17 january 2014

it was the same muddy path that greeted jason on the way back to his village. nothing much had changed or so he thought.

jason went overseas to seek fortune. he left without telling abby goodbye thinking it would somehow ease the pain. abby was the love of his life and he returned to claim her hand in marriage.

jason was confident he could now provide the financial security she deserved.

as abby walked down the aisle this morning, jason knew that all the money in the world could not replace the one that he already had and lost today.

So sad, he should of said Goodbye to her and told her he was coming back. Good story! Nan

A lesson for all of us…don’t let a gem get away. There might never be another just like it.

Having no idea what abby really treasured, jason returned with nothing of value.

    dear plaridel,

i think you mean “telling abby goodbye” rather than “saying abby goodbye”. and that’s something he should’ve done. no one could blame her since he never shared his plan with her. well done.

    shalom,

He really should have told her before he left. Communication is key in any relationship.
