location: ephesus, turkey
can prostitution really be the world’s oldest profession?
this footprint found in the ancient greek city of ephesus served two purposes. it was to point the way to the brothel and the minimum foot size allowed for customers. a turkish lira is shown in the picture for additional perspective.

must be enough to stay in business. even the library of celsus had a secret passage leading to the brothel.
