For Friday Fictioneers 100-Word Challenge 9 May 2014
Note: This would be my last submission for a while. In the coming weeks, I’d be traveling to places I’d never been.

It was supposed to be a simple outing at the beach. Little did Laila realize she would be abducted.
Her ransom unpaid, she was married off to Amal, one of the rebels.
On their wedding night, Amal wanted to consummate their union. When she resisted, he didn’t force her. Instead, they ended up talking and getting to know each other.
It didn’t take long for them to fall in love.
Six months into her captivity, Laila was finally rescued. She didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. During the fighting, Amal was killed, leaving her heavy with a child.

i’ll be flying to frankfurt and board a train to trier to explore that part of germany visiting old castles and ancient roman ruins and then go hiking in the swiss alps.

A bittersweet ending. Although I was young at the time, it reminds me of the Patty Hearst story.

Quite a bitter sweet story. I’m glad she found love however brief, even if it took a kidnapping.

First. enjoy your trip.. if you would be passing Stockholm come by.. Could work well since I think there is Stockholm syndrome in you story….

Plaridel, Good story. These occurences are probably happening with the kidnappings. If she is from the Middle East, or further east though, she might have some difficulty if she wants to remarry, especially since she has a child. Have a great trip. It sounds very interesting. 🙂

It’s funny how things turn out sometimes. At first, she would have hated him, then grew to love him. Now, she’s a sad widow heavy with child.

I’ve read true stories about similar things, but real or not, the story is filled with emotion and the unexpected that makes life interesting. Have a wonderful time traveling and seeing new things!!
