weekly photo challenge: symmetry

location: louvre museum, paris, france
i stood awestruck at the sight of venus de milo when i visited the louvre in paris a couple of years ago. she was indeed a thing of beauty. when i explored every bit of her, i could only see perfect symmetry.
she was one of the most famous works of ancient greek sculpture dating back to 150 b.c. discovered in the island of milos in 1820, she was thought to represent aphrodite, the greek goddess of love and beauty.
it was amazing to me how ancient she was. her features didn’t look any different from the women of today. in fact, she could stand head to toe with any models appearing in the current sports illustrated swimsuit issue.
the above picture was an attempt to make her mine. sigh, i failed miserably.
