Connor found his cat a little apprehensive as he was leaving for work.

“Is something the matter, Molly?“ he asked.

There was no response, just a worried stare.

Walking to the bus stop, he met somebody on a wheel chair stuck in the street.

“Battery died,” she stammered.

“Where do you live?”

“A block away on Lorena Street.”

“I can push you home.”

It was an act of kindness that saved Connor’s life. By assisting the disabled woman, he missed the out-of-control car that slammed into the bus stop that morning.

Back home, Molly could heave a sigh of relief.

A lucky escape. His act of kindness was well rewarded! Molly has good instincts, it’s a shame she can’t talk.

I do believe our pets can “sense” things that we can’t explain. I like the way you wove that idea into this story, Plaridel. Nice job!
