For Friday Fictioneers 100-Word Challenge: 26 August 2016

NOTE: It’s vacation time. You may consider this as my last post for a while. I’m taking off from blogging until I return in October.

When I was three years old, Nana Talia took me in a small boat across the river. I must have enjoyed it so much the experience stayed with me.

Nana Talia babysat me for just a few months. I can’t remember her face anymore, but I can still feel her love that has enveloped me like a mist.

I think when somebody has been good to us, we remain connected to that person even when we have moved on. Since that trip on the river, I’ve crossed many rivers, and with each crossing, I’ve felt her steady hands holding me.

The idea of not remembering the face but remembering the love is a beautiful observation

I love the line about her love “enveloped me like a mist.” Yes, we tend to have fond memories of those types of people long after they’re gone.

    Dear Plaridel,

Very sweet story. I feel the same about my Aunt Edith who passed away when I was eight.
Have a wonderful vacation. You will be missed.

    Shalom,
