Supermoon – Nov. 14, 2016

Last night, I couldn’t help myself. From the backyard, I took a picture of the supermoon using my smartphone.
Rising above the treetops, it was so bright and beautiful. Definitely, it was an awesome sight to behold. If somehow the picture didn’t get you excited, you could blame the photographer. If anything, you could compare it to the ones you took and be proud of yourself.
A supermoon is the term used when the moon orbits at its closest distance to the earth. Every 14th full moon is considered a supermoon. Last night was special since the last time it came this close was 70 years ago.
Next time it happens again will be on November 25, 2034. By then I hope I have a better camera to record the event.

Always hard to take a picture of the moon! Glad you saw it. We didn’t- too cloudy. The hype around it made it so disappointing. 😦
