For Friday Fictioneers 100-Word Challenge: 18 November 2016

Donald was the love of her life. When he left her, she felt abandoned like a cello gathering dust.
Henrietta thought Donald was gone for good until he congratulated her for winning the lottery.
Dinner together brought back happy memories. Donald tugged at Henrietta’s heartstrings and played her like a virtuoso.
“If you have the capacity to forgive,” he said, “I want us to start over.”
Forgiveness cannot change the past, but it can change the future.
For Henrietta, being reminded by a quote from Fulkerson made the decision easier.
When Donald squeezed her hand, Henrietta squeezed his in return.
