Weekly Photo Challenge: Anticipation

The Outhouse
Location: Punta Gorda, Belize
An outhouse is an outhouse is an outhouse. It’s there in anticipation of your need to go when you needed to go.

But this one is special. Located at the Warasa Garifuna Drum School, it features the painting of a man and a woman in their native attire making it a work of art and a place of easement at the same time.

When traveling, it pays to look for Mcdonald’s when nature calls because this American export is known for its clean restrooms.

In Belize, however, there’s no Mcdonald’s to save the day. You have to make do with what’s available to relieve yourself. Most restrooms are the outhouse type. Despite their humble structures, they’re clean and respectable and serve their purpose well. At least, I can speak of those that I have used.

Interesting, you have a Punta Gorda in Belize. I lived next to there in Florida…another Punta Gorda.
I like your story. Very interesting observations.
Here in America, I don’t go to a Macdonald’s much. They mat be cheap, but i have found out by reading several articles written, their food seems to…not age. Which is disturbing to me. I used to eat there till i read those.
Now Walmart, their bathrooms are very dirty. Least in the ones i have been into. YUCK.

Even an outhouse is much appreciated when you really needed to go. Interesting though, no McDonald’s in Belize?

You didn’t mention that our outside bathroom (which is sophisticated as far as outside bathrooms go in Belize – they are flush toilets πŸ™‚ ) is actually owned by Ronald Raymond McDonald….not of restaurant mascot fame, but the 32 year old Belizean Garifuna owner of Warasa Garifuna Drum School! Thank you for sharing πŸ™‚
