Weekly Photo Challenge: Ambience

Tivoli Gardens
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

Tivoli Gardens has an ambience of a place where you can relax and share the moment with your loved ones. Don’t take my word for it. Walt Disney was a believer. When he visited it in the 50s, he was seen taking notes as he walked around the park. Four years later, he opened Disneyland in California.

Opened in 1843, it predates Disneyland by more than a century. According to Wikipedia, it’s the second oldest operating amusement park and pleasure garden in the world superseded only by Dyrehavsbakken in Klampenborg, Denmark. Incidentally, the founding fathers might not even be aware of the hidden meaning of its name. When spelled backwards, TIVOLI means I LOV IT.

Tivoli Gardens has a wide selection of attractions in both traditional and modern settings. For one, it features the oldest wooden roller coaster called Rutschebanen built in 1914. It’s a must-see if you’re in Copenhagen.
