Although Olivia had already rejected his proposal twice, Homer was determined to win her over. He called her once more to plead his case. After all, Olivia was a good catch. The old maid was the sole heir to the Smith family fortune.
“It’s you again.” Olivia sounded upset after picking up the phone. “What part of ‘No’ don’t you understand?”
“Olivia, please hear me out,” he begged.
“You have overstayed your welcome,” she snapped and hung up.
“Well, that’s it, I give up,” Homer said to himself. “I’m not cut out to sell life insurance. I need another profession.”
