“Kevin, are you sure you want to challenge him?” Scott asked, referring to Homer. “He’s considered the GOAT and many agree.”

Kevin remained undaunted. Homer couldn’t bully him anymore.

They squared off right after school.

Kevin hit Homer in the face. He hit him again on the nose causing it to bleed.

“Is that all you got?” Homer smiled, wiping the blood off his face.

Now it was time for Homer to return the favor. He smacked Kevin like a punching bag. He fell to the ground many times but kept getting up earning the bully’s respect in the end.

    Dear Plaridel,

Good unique use of the prompt. Good for Kevin for not letting Homer get his goat.

    Shalom,

Kevin deserves respect, but a sad way to earn it. Far too many goats in this world. Nicely written dialogue and story!

Isn’t it sad that so many kids need to find their place in the world this way? (Heck, adults, too!)

Kevin is hitting Homer, the goat. Is it not cruelty to animal? Kevin may go to jail.

A pleasantly different twist on the prompt. Not that I think bullying and fighting are okay. I do think, though that the best way to back down a bully is to stand up to him.

Another ‘ole goat! Too many of them around. As someone who was bullied, I can relate. No one should go through it but in a weird way it makes you stronger.

Excuse me for butting in, butt I think that’s a hell of a way to prove yourself.
Butt what do I know, I’m just an old goat.
