Fish Burger
Location: Alfriston, England

Fish Burger

While in Alfriston, a village of less than 1,000 in East Sussex, England, I went to a small bar/restaurant for lunch.

From the menu, I ordered my very first fish burger. It came in a bun with two thick pieces of crispy and golden cod fillet. It was incredibly huge, and to my dismay, I didn’t have a way of eating it without making a mess of myself. The meat was so fragile and tender that it started to fall apart as soon as I took a bite of it.

After I was done eating, I complimented the bar/restaurant owner for the delicious meal that I just had. At the same time, I had to apologize for the spillage that had occurred. It was on the table and under the table.

“Don’t worry about it,” she said. “We’ll take care of it.”

Truth to tell, the fish burger was great. But I don’t think I’ll have it again until I learn how to eat it gracefully like a pro.
