Chicken with Red Cabbage and Czech Dumplings

 
Prague is one place to go for foodies. It’s known for great cuisine as the presence of food tours can attest. But it isn’t good news for somebody turning vegetarian like me. It’s considered a sacrilege to be a vegetarian in this part of the world.

A popular dish that I tried was the chicken with red cabbage and Czech dumplings. Sorry, a pocket camera and poor lighting conditions inside the restaurant couldn’t give the justice it deseved. It went well with beer which is the favorite drink among the locals.

Besides the food, it’s a delight to roam the streets of this wonderful city. Spared from the bombs of World War II, the best of European architecture are well-represented. Standing next to each other, you’d find Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Socialist Realism, and others too numerous to mention.

Prague seemed to have been built without a plan. I found the streets and alleys to be very confusing. It was like walking through a maze. Understandingly, I always got lost on my way back to the hotel. I didn’t mind it, though, as it usually led me to discover something priceless like a Communist-era cafeteria where the locals dine.
