It was early evening. Elaine went downstairs from their apartment to pick up the mail.

As she was opening the mailbox, she felt somebody breathing down the back of her neck.

It was a moment of terror when pepper spray would come handy, but unfortunately she didn’t have it with her.

What would she do now?

Paralyzed with fear, she slowly turned around and saw her husband Kyle sporting a silly grin.

“Don’t ever sneak up behind me again!” she exclaimed in disgust.

“Sorry, hon, I didn’t mean to scare you.”

“Yeah, right!”

That night, Kyle slept on the couch.

Good intentions so very often yield bad results. You’ve made a typographical error. About the pepper spray , you should have said she didn’t have it….

Funnily enough, I did something similar to my daughter the other day. I thought it was funny. She was not amused!

It was the silly grin that got him sent to the couch. I wonder what he is up to?

    Dear Plaridel,

I guess she didn’t find much humor in his antics. Hope the couch was comfortable for him. πŸ˜‰

Guess he’s lucky he didn’t get peppersprayed along with sleeping on the couch. I know better than to sneak up on my wife, although it happens accidentally sometimes. πŸ™‚
