Landon found himself alone on the beach on a bitter cold and wintry day.

For a moment, he watched the darkening skies and powerful waves crashing and spewing water into the cliffs.

Then he walked down the shore and thought about the status of his marriage.

When he lost his job, his wife became domineering and controlling. But now that he was earning good money again, he felt it was time to assert himself and get his voice heard.

Suddenly, his smartphone rang requiring immediate attention. It was the commander-in-chief.

“Don’t forget to take pizza home for dinner.”

“Yes, dear.”

Perhaps, he’s had this type of agreement from the beginning of his relationship with his wife. Some men don’t want to be in control of anything. He seems to be doubting his choices though. Nice take on the prompt. Be Safe 😷 … Isadora 😎

Sometimes it’s easier to just not make any waves! And who can say no to pizza? We’ve made the jobs we have so much of our identity, especially men, that the losing them can seem an almost insurmountable trauma.

Perhaps he can move on from “yes dear.” At any rate this is a sad story that made me chuckle. Well done.
