On a dark lonely night, Ethan stood by the lamp post looking at the familiar house on the dead end street.

Seeing the lights in the living room, he remembered the love and the warmth it provided inside.

Ethan had so many wonderful memories growing up there. It had been the center for birthdays and family holiday celebrations. That was until his mom and dad passed away and the place sold at an auction.

Back in the day, it was home but it was home no more. Shivering in the cold, Ethan pulled his coat tight and started walking away.

How heartbreaking! Poor guy needs a home and a loving family restored to him. I wonder why he never found it.

Ah, nostalgia does not always mean warmth that lasts … and sometimes it can mean loss for what was and is no more. I hope he finds a new place to make a home.

It’s hard giving up the family home. In a way, the home is a member of the family.

Our childhood homes are unforgettable. How sad that he is in such a lonely place in his life that he must go to his for a comfort it no longer can offer. Well written Plaridel.

Beautiful story! My parents owned the home I grew up in from the day I was born until the day they died. I don’t think I could go back inside if invited. Well done.
