High school was over. Headed to California, Emma would soon be leaving the neighborhood where she grew up. She decided it was time to break up with her boyfriend too.

While she was wild and a free spirit, Tom was the typical Boy Scout.

Emma knew he loved her despite her imperfections. But it wasn’t enough to keep the relationship going.

At this point in her life, she was looking for a kindred spirit who shared what others might perceive as character flaws.

She worried that Tom might take it hard. If only she knew, he’d already found somebody new.

His heart will be broken. But not for long, He’ll find a girl scout who shares his virtues

And that’s the way it goes . . . .I wonder how she’ll feel when she finds out, Boy Scout or no. Good story, Plaridel.

So it works out well for both of them, with neither heart broken.

You’re welcome. Half the fun is seeing what we all find in the prompt isn’t it.

…despite her imperfections… I think it’s him who’s flawed. Good for her to get out of there. Good story.

Great story. Real life, especially for two so young. Remember the Boy Scout motto, ‘be prepared.’ 🙂

    Dear Plaridel,

it sounds like she fretted over him for nothing. He probably saw the handwriting on the wall. Good story.

Opposites attract for a while, but there comes a point when that’s not enough . A great take plaridel.
