Angela brought color to Dino’s life and to those she came in contact with through her smile and positive outlook.

Despite being bound in a wheelchair, she became an accomplished artist and painter.

When Dino got an offer to work overseas, he didn’t want to go.

“I want to take care of you,” he told his girlfriend.

“That’s bullsh*t,” Angela replied. “Go and pursue your dreams and never look back.”

After Dino left, she died unexpectedly from the deadly storm that ravaged their island.

At her funeral, he heard that a rainbow appeared. Dino knew it was her saying good-bye.

Your story moved me, Plaridel. I like the way you make Angela authentically outspoken, with her “That’s bullsh*t”, which feels very believable.
And thank you for introducing me to that song by the Rolling Stones – it’s lovely.

I can’t decide if this is a happy or sad ending. Let’s say bittersweet.

The story is both sad and beautiful. He may have died, too, if he hadn’t followed his dreams.

    Dear Plaridel,

Perhaps Angela knew she wouldn’t be there when he came back. Bittersweet story.

I cannot help but wonder why Angela was so abrupt with him. It feels harsher than it should have been. Unless, of course, she knew she was dying and didn’t want him to know and lose his opportunity for nothing.
