Ryan looked like his namesake, Ryan Gosling, and felt he deserved more than waiting tables at Baonecciโ€˜s.

“If you want to advance in this restaurant, you need to break the glass ceiling.”

Ryan took the advice literally. When he went up the roof to investigate, however, he discovered he couldn’t do it all by himself and gave up on the idea.

But not his ambition to rise in the ranks. Ryan would eventually become the assistant manager after wooing and winning the heart of the owner’s daughter. She was no Emma Stone, but he could live with that for sure.

I hope he didn’t tell her she was no Emma Stone! Ryan doesn’t seem the smartest to me.

I’m not sure that’s the lesson Ryan was supposed to learn from discovering he couldn’t break the glass ceiling by himself

    Dear Plaridel,

This Ryan doesn’t sound like a likable guy. I wonder how long the relationship with the owner’s daughter will last?

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

Ambition is a great if kept in check with a clear purpose. Well done for him, although i worry when he considered breaking the glass ceiling โ€“literally.

If it took Emma’s influence to wangle him an assistant manager position, he really ought to think twice. If it didn’t, then good on him for not breaking the glass and sticking on his career trajectory.

A movie star look-alike with ambition and no scruples. Probably doesn’t matter that he’s lacking in grey matter if he’s hooked the boss’s daughter. He should go a long way.

Mmmm … I wonder how long the relationship will last since it began with questionable ideals. I think his looks may have gotten the best of him. Plaridel. Interesting thought this week.
    Have a wonderful weekend.

Do you know? I think this marriage might just work. It’s very much in Ryan’s best interests to keep his wife happy, and love can grow when it’s nurtured.

There’s more than one way to break a ceiling and Ryan found a way. I don’t fault anyone for trying to get ahead. Maybe he loves her, and if he doesn’t right now maybe he will grow to love her. (Can you tell I’m an optimist?)
