It was early evening. From the top of their apartment building, Homer thought of committing suicide.
He had been depressed lately. In his wifeβs eyes whom he had suspected of having an affair, he was a good-for-nothing husband. He lost his job and became dependent on her. He was better dead than alive.
As Homer found himself getting closer and closer to the ledge, he realized, “What if what he was undergoing could just be a phase and that life was still worth living?”
He then turned around and told his wife standing behind him, βSheesh, Marge, stop pushing me.”

I laughed at your story at how you ended it and your Homer & Marge names. At the same time I cringed because of how many people have found themselves in just such a circumstance. I hope Homer leaves Marge and begins a new, happier chapter of his life.

I’m glad he realised the phase would pass. He’s going to be OK. He needs to ditch Marge, though.
