As Karl staggered with his cane to the front of the store, he wondered if Victoria’s family still owned the place. After a lover’s spat, he left her without saying goodbye.

He went inside and found a woman rearranging the displays.

“Victoria, is that you?” he asked.

“Karl, what the hell?” she said looking at him incredulously. “What brought you here after all these years?”

“I want to tell you how sorry I’m for what I did.”

“You’re forgiven.”

“Perhaps we can start all over?”

“What a thing to say!” she snapped. “Better go before my husband beats you up.”

Hmm – Karl seems a bit over-optimistic. I don’t think Victoria is pleased to see him at all.

Karl pushing his luck a bit there, and assuming that Victoria wouldn’t have been able to move on!

it takes two to tango and only if the music fits. Karl missed his opportunity many years ago. life’s tough.

Karl must be losing it. Does he really think he’s going
to swoop her off her feet after what he did?
Obviously, he’s lost his mind. Time marches on Karl.

At least he got to say sorry and she forgave him. He might have got a bit carried away for a moment but no harm done. As long as he makes it out of there before hubby arrives.

Karl had a hard lesson to learn here, especially so late in life. When you choose the behavior, you also choose the consequence.
