For Elian, life was good. He was happy and contented. It changed when he met and fall in love with Megan.
He thought she was the one, but when he proposed, she rejected him outright.
“Get over yourself,“ she said. “Have you been drinking again?”
It could’ve been meant as a joke, but it didn’t come across that way. Elian felt insulted and led him into the seemingly bottomless dark hole of anger and bitterness.
Elian, to his credit, came to his senses and didn’t give up on his pursuit. He eventually won her over after overcoming his alcohol addiction.

A similar idea this week, although yours much more romantic and with a happy ending! I went the other way! Nicely done.

i was actually leaning on the idea that if he couldn’t have her, nobody would. but changed my mind at the last minute. 🙂

Dear Plaridel,
Apparently, his addiction came between them. Glad he overcame his addiction and her objections. Nicely done.
Shalom,

Good for them, I hope he can stay sober. It’s admirable to overcome an addiction.

I guess he got over himself, just as she asked. Not an easy task for addictions. I hope she truly appreciates the battle he fought in her behalf.

Interestingly, the title of the book and movie are both, “When Love Is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story.” 🙂 Her point: it’s not enough.

I’m glad she had the courage to speak out and I’m glad he had the courage to kick the habit. May they enjoy wedded bliss with each other. Good story.
