For Friday Fictioneers 100-Word Challenge: 14 October 2022

It was a gloomy and rainy day, but Billy decided to go to the playground anyway.

He couldn’t contain his delight when he found it deserted except for a lost dog.

“Yippee!” he cried out. There was nobody around to compete for the swings, the slides, the climbers, and the parallel bars.

But soon his excitement turned into boredom. It was no fun at all when he had everything all to himself and didn’t have to share and even fight for it.

Billy called it a day and walked back home and followed by the dog hoping to be adopted.

Alone at the park, one child’s dream until the boredom sets in. Well done.

Good insights into the fun not so much without other kids at the playground. I hope Billy’s parents say yes.

It’s very true that often when we get exactly what we want, we don’t want it anymore. He won’t be alone with his new friend, though.

    Dear Plaridel,

You left me hoping the dog will find a forever home with Billy. It sounds like they could both use a friend. Nicely done.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle
