It stood out among the cars in the neighborhood with its classic look. Occasionally, Devin would see the old man from the second floor go down to warm it up.

Devin couldn’t wait to try it for a spin.

One summer evening, he had his chance. As he was starting it, he heard loud taps on the windshield.

“What exactly are you doing?” the old man asked holding a shotgun.

“Sir, I’m warming your car,” he replied. “Like a good neighbor, I’m trying to help.”

“Is that right?” the old man was incredulous. “Go ahead while I call the cops.”

    Dear Plaridel,

Not sure the old man bought the “good neighbor” explanation. 😉

Don’t mess with the old guys – they’ve heard all the excuses before.

This made me smile, but I’m not sure anyone owning a car like that has a shotgun! 🙂

Uh-oh, he could be in some real trouble there, especially with the police on their way.

I love it when a culprit is caught red-handed. Let’s just hope he’s not released with a pat on the head to go and try it again.
