On his way for a free dinner at a local church, Samuel walked by a home with a Christmas tree and heard children giggling inside. It made him miss more the family he left behind.

Living in a foreign country he now considered home, he never felt so alone. He thought of being continuously preyed on, bullied, and insulted over his looks and accent.

At the entrance to the church’s dining hall stood its charismatic leader extending his hand.

β€œWelcome, welcome,” he said. β€œI’m Rev. Jim Jones.”

At that moment, Samuel felt he belonged and was accepted like everybody else.

And that’s how cult leaders pull in their victims. Such a sad reality that humans serve all links in the “food chain.”

A happy moment of not being alone at Christmas. Will he be overpowered by kindness or just enjoy the moment and leave?

Eeek, a very sad story this week. The poor man would have deserved honest welcome and warmth, not a cult and death. Well done!

This is not going to end well for him if he doesn’t leave after having the free dinner and never return to that church.
