Disappeared Without a Trace

For Friday Fictioneers 100-Word Challenge: 17 February 2023

Once there lived an old man on the top floor of that apartment building. He kept to himself and didn’t interact with anyone.
On rare occasions, you could see him walking outside listening to what looked like an outdated Walkman.
One day, he suddenly disappeared without a trace. When the property owner checked his apartment, he found it bare and empty as if nobody had lived there.
A week before he went missing, a homeless person saw a strange aircraft hovering around the place. But then again, would you believe somebody high on drugs? I wouldn’t if I were you.

Whenever there is an unexplained disappearance it opens the door for endless speculation. I hope the police do a quality investigation to find out what happened.
