Last night I was listlessly watching a Seinfeld rerun on TV. I was about to fall asleep on the couch when I heard Jerry mentioning the word “naked”. Suddenly, I found myself jolted back into consciousness.
I don’t want to be overdramatic here, but what is it about “naked” that elicits such a response from us? It’s a word that has the power to arouse our interest in anything that it brings on the table. It’s like the condiments that make even a rotting steak tasty.
Unfortunately, “naked” is a word better left unsaid in polite society. It makes the imagination go wild. It conjures up images of lust that need to be suppressed. Is it because it’s usually associated with sex?
