Food for Thought Before Bikinis Go Out of Style

When Dan Marino became the spokesman for Nutrisystem, I suddenly realized something’s happening here. It looks like we can’t ignore any longer that obesity has become a major problem in the U.S. According to a recent survey, 2 out 3 Americans are either overweight or obese. Something must be done about it before bikinis and sexy beach wears go out of style. Who would want to go to the beach in a toga? Not me, not you, and definitely, not Dan Marino.

Notwithstanding the big payoff, I honestly think that one of the greatest quarterback in history took the job because he believes in the system. It made him lose 22 pounds, and he has the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos of himself to prove it.

Without making light of Dan Marino’s efforts, all diet systems will work as long as you stick to it. However, it’s more like treating the symptom rather than the disease.

Big Mac, Anyone?



I put on my favorite pair of pants this morning and it didn’t feel right. It was tight. At first, I wondered if I accidentally washed it in hot water that it shrunk. But later I found out I actually gained an inch around my waist line. I’m now size 33.

I consider this as an omen of bad things to come. I’m getting bigger. I’m tipping the scale at 153 pounds in my shorts and I’ve only myself to blame. True, it’s still 7 pounds shy of my ideal weight, but it’s getting there. It’s getting there.
