The Paint Job

The balcony needed a new paint job. Tom knew it. He could live without it, but the lady of the house wanted it and she wouldn’t take no for an answer.

It seemed like yesterday when Aunt Polly made him whitewash the fence as punishment for dirtying his clothes in a fight. It was a job he hated. He swore not to touch a paintbrush again, but fate forced him to reconsider.

“Better finish it this weekend,” his wife Becky said.

“Yes, dear,” Tom replied with a sigh. He’d got to do as told if he wanted to get laid.
