On our third day in Paris, we went to Musée du Louvre (The Louvre) located on the right side of the Seine river.
It’s one of the largest museums in the world with an area over 650,000 square feet. Its 300 rooms have 35,000 exhibits on display from prehistoric times to the 21st century. These include the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, Code of Hummurabi, and Winged Victory.

The lines were long and too crowded to offer a moment for reflection and even take good pictures, but there was no other place I’d rather be especially on a rainy day.
Our guide said it would be impossible to cover everything in one visit. The best strategy then was to prioritize what you wanted to see and plan on coming back someday.

weekly photo challenge: on the move
when you’re visiting a famous museum like the louvre in paris, nothing stands still except the statues and the displays. you’d have no time to dilly-dally. you’d find yourself always on the move.

under the circumstances, taking pictures can be very challenging. the results would likely appear out of focus or blurry as the winged victory of samothrace that i took last summer.
if there’s a lesson to be learned here, it’s to avoid going to the louvre or to any popular destination during the peak of the tourist season so that you’d have more time to get your money’s worth. better still, put your camera aside and enjoy the moment as you engage your senses to the fullest.
