Failure Isn’t an Option

Outsourcing

It’s been very busy at work. I can’t do anything else, but work, work, work. The coming weeks don’t promise to be anything different. Aside from the business as usual stuff, we are working on two conversion projects with aggressive deadlines.

But the situation didn’t prevent management from laying off three more people from the regular staff. As if to appease the remaining employees, management says that would be it for the department. They don’t expect any more layoffs this year. Hello, haven’t I heard this before?

on hiatus

this blog will go dark in the coming weeks due to my busy schedule that involves some traveling. at the same time, i’m going on a holiday.

i know to some of you i appear as a nuisance. i’d been there and done that and had proven to be a jerk at times. but i think i’d learned my lessons since i wrote this piece a couple of years ago. i do cherish the friendships that i had made through blogging and regret the ones that i had lost because of what i did or didn’t do. oh, if only i can bring back the past, but that’s wishful thinking.

if everything turns out well (and they should because i’m an optimist), i’ll be back early in july. in the meantime, peace and love to all of you.

A man jumped onto the subway tracks which caused delays in service. I got home late as usual. If there was any consolation, a lot of the passengers did, too.

Could I Be A Space Alien?

This folder is then passed around to the staff for their reading pleasure. It was our former boss who came up with the idea to ensure transparency within the group. Our current boss thought it was a swell idea, too, so he continued the practice.

Feeling the Crunch

We’ve been very busy at work. As I mentioned in passing in an earlier post, our company lost people throughout last year and the group I work with (thought to be immune from layoffs) felt the axe in the last quarter. It goes without saying that we’re feeling the crunch. There are fewer bodies to handle the workload. I find it funny that after letting people go, management is now projecting more work ahead that contractors will be hired to help out.
