It’s early morning in Würzburg. What’s a better way to start the day than to visit the popular Brandstetter Cafe? The staff still appear relaxed and friendly. More importantly, there’s less crowd giving you time to browse and select among the fresh baked goods on display.

After a light breakfast, you can take some time to explore the city on foot. It’s worth your while. You’ll be impressed by the determined efforts of its citizens (mostly women) to rebuild after 90% of the city was devastated by massive Allied bombing in World War II. As you walk around, you’ll find the buildings of historical importance were accurately and painstakingly reconstructed.
