For Friday Fictioneers 100-Word Challenge: 7 February 2020

He was lost and found his way back. He knocked on the door but there was no answer. Since it was Sunday, everybody must be at church.
Sitting on the front porch step, he waited for them to come home.
It was crashing his dad’s car into a pole that made him run away and join a cult. In the beginning he felt he belonged until one of the leaders started molesting him.
He hoped he’d be forgiven, but not quite sure. Once his family arrived, however, all doubts vanished.
“Billy!” his mom called out as they rushed to him.

I like to believe there is no way a parent would not open her arms to take her child back – especially after he has been involved in such a horrible situation. Well done, Plaridel.
