the trümmelbach falls are one of the natural wonders in the world. they are located in the lauterbrunnen valley in switzerland. i was fortunate to see these subterranean waterfalls up close and personal when i was in the area last summer.

hidden inside the mountain, the falls start 459 feet above and are comprised of 10 separate waterfalls. a lift and several tunnels, stairs and walkways lead to different viewpoint areas where you can witness the awesome power of melted ice water roaring down at 5,000 gallons per second.

i found some areas were dimly-lit and slippery so extreme caution must be observed when visiting. a raincoat would be nice, too, if you don’t want to get wet. suit yourself. it’s just won’t be fun anymore.

Hi Plaridel, your compliment overwhelmed me. I thank you for the encouragement. After checking my blog settings I saw that comments were allowed but somehow the individual post settings was unchecked. In short, I backtracked to check all posts for this year onwards to allow comments. Once again, thank you for letting me know.
