He left the home where he grew up to seek a better life in a foreign country. He could feel the sadness in his parents’ eyes. They thought they had failed him and worried about his future.
Living in Brooklyn hadn’t been easy. He had been harassed, insulted, and asked to go back to where he came from. But thanks to the support of relatives who came before him, he survived and learned to deal with the cards he’d been dealt.
After serving in the Army for two years, he finally found his niche that would make his parents proud.

Plaridel, we’re all dealt a joker or two, I think. It’s how we deal with our hand that matters. This young man drew some Aces along the way.
