weekly photo challenge: silhouette

location: teatroarte cuticchio, cefalù, italy

i want to share this picture showing beautiful wooden hand-carved puppets. it was taken after watching a puppet show at the teatroarte cuticchio in the town of cefalù located in the northern coast of sicily. the show featured battle scenes between the normans and the saracens in the 11th century.

puppetry or marionette art is a skill that has been practiced, honed and perfected in this place of the world. it has a long tradition from back in the day to the present time as the godfather movie poster will attest.
